BEST HEADER
What is the best among HP race header, Kamikaze header, or DC header?
What is the different between chrome and ceramic? Which one is the best (Quality and perfor mance?

some people will say HP, some will say Kamikaze, it's whatever that person has. Im getting kamikaze just cause i dont want to have to shave my motor mounts. you wouldnt happen to know if it will cause a terrible smell from the back of my car would you?
DC header is just a shorty and it is god awful I've heard. All it is for is cosmetics, just to make the engine bay look prettier. Supposedly the piping is a tiny bit bigger than stock, if any and does nothing at all for performance.
Haha, well I'm not sure, but I think the DC header shouldn't even be considered as your option. As for the other options, I wouldn't know, but people will say either or. I'm getting a Kamikaze header because it fits the LX... even with the stock exhaust. As for the difference between chrome and ceramic finishes... well, I don't think it makes a difference performance wise (does it?), just for looks. Unless one dissipates heat more than the other. Other than that, I have no idea.

here's the deal on header heat guys.
u'd want to KEEP THE HEAT WITHIN the header.
so, if it has a high temp coating... its meant to KEEP the header hot...
if its getting all these heat out of the engine bay... it may hinder intake performance... AND exhaust performance.
there's a reason for that heatshield to be there with the stock header.. and other locations through out the stock exhaust system.
now, a little physics.
the hotter it gets, the faster molecules move.
the hotter it gets, the faster the exhaust molecules move... and the faster it exits the manifold chamber... the faster the exhaust exit.. the faster there is for room for new combustion...
hence, to reduce engine bay heat and keep the heat in the tubbing... there's those stock heatshield.
for aftermarket headers... sometimes there aren't any needs for one.
but IMO u should buy a header wrap and wrap up the header to keep the heat in.
there's some pros and cons in this.. since it really puts stress on your header... and if you have a crap quality product (like DC or etc.) your header may crack long before its suppose to. it really takes the life span of the header away.
if you check the stock header, you'll see that the weld on it is pretty decent.. and overall the material is of quality.. something that last.
sure the aftermarkets are chrome or polished and shiny.... er..
anyway I'm getting off topic.
some manufactures voids ur warranty if you use a header wrap.. cuz that eventually cracks and wears out the header...
so those are the pros and cons to header wrap. better performance at the expense of your header lifespan.

for the hp headers, do u need a new downpipe? where did u guys get one, and how much was it? i did a lil earch, but cudnt find anyhting and im kinda out of time, so any response wut be of great help. tahnks
depends which hp header you get, if you get the race header with high flo cat, then no you do not need a downpipe. if you get just the shorty header, then yeah you need a downpipe, so get the one with the high flow cat.
Wow, it's that much to get it coated? Did you get your Kamikaze header coated? If so, have any pics of it? I just wanna see what it looks like. I'm not going to get mine coated though.
Alright buddy just wha I needed to know (well Kamikaze headers and a whole wack of other info about car mods)
But my first question is how much do these Kamikaze headers go for in cost? Now can they be slapped onto a '95 integra gs-r? and yea HP wha company does that stand for?
thanx buddy
thanx buddy
Slow+Furious, check out www.bigjoshracing.com. I think it's about $300 for our 7th gen civics and $235 for the '95 integra gsr.
Hey thanx for the link Azure appreciate it
Ok HP...is HP i'm cool with that
Hey Agungmeth i think i know wha a 4-2-1 and a 4-1 header type is. 4-2-1
4 pipes from the engine intake manifold itself goes into 2 pipes then into 1 pipe attached to the exhaust manifold center pipe? Then the 4-1 header is 4 pipes from the engine intake manifold into the exhaust manifold center pipe?
Well guys help me out here if i'm wrong haha not bad for a newbie i suppose?

about the hp header with hi-flo cat...
i was lookin on the nopi site, and they have the normal headers, and the 'race design' with cat eliminator...
so im guessing the hi-flo cat is the cheaper one? or is it the expensive one

is there any header at all with a downpipe for an EX taht is actually legal without eliminating the cat?? the second pic from Azure's post looks like it bolts on to the cat

kamikaze headers
A 4-1 design is 4 primary tubes going into one collector, 4-2-1 also known as a tri y is way way old design, the used those on farm tractors way back. The 4-1 is far superior then the 4-1 , how many race cars or dragsters do you see with a 4-2-1, none
