I could install it and have it as the last mod for my 2k2 or I could sell it and put the money towards the hatch I am gonna buy to drop a B into.

It's not so much that our manifolds are made of plastic. In fact, plastic doesn't conduct heat near as much as alluminum or any metal to that nature. If you take your factory manifold off and look at the ports for the air flow, you'll understand why that is probably the most restrictive part on our cars. Plastic is a great idea for air intakes and intake manifolds, it's just that car makers want better emissions these days and make these parts as restrictive as they can.

It's gonna be Monday before I can get my manifold gasket, but when it comes in I will let you guys know. The gasket is coming from out-of-state so it will be three or four days.

I have 45,000 on my 2001. I have been told by a lot of people to replace your manifold gaskets no matter how many miles you have on your car. The gasket cost 12.00 from my nearest dealer. You can get it online for a little cheaper
yea, your going to want to change it when you change the manifold, but reddragon said he only has 3600 on it, is he talking about the car? or 3600 miles since hes changed the gasket, am i missing something, did he also buy a kms manifold?

i would, even if it has low miles, its still being heated up when you drive it, you prob could get away with using it, but if it blows, cracks, or anything then you have to do all the work of replacing it, id just replace it once its off and your changing the IM, its 12 bucks, so IMO i would,
also 3400 mile? do you work at home or something? or have a 2nd car?
