Just got off the phone with my mechanic, my engine has had it. He said that I either need to buy a new engine or get a complete rebuild.
I think I am gonna get him to rebuild it with performance parts.

Yup!! That's pics from the one I got. Come to find out, I was the first to actually get the intake. Oh, and he had that N/A civic that had the 4 individual throttle bodies. I wanted to drive it soo bad but it needs valve springs now. After the valve work is done, he is going to dyno it. They said the sound that that car makes is awesome. You can hear the engine suck in the air for the throttle bodies.
Ike, I'm sorry to hear that about your car. Check Ebay, there is always D17's on there. I know a guy who might can hook you up with a good price as well. I'll try to get in touch with him tomorrow.

since u're going to spend the money on the rebuilt... you may want to consider checking ebay for a D17A2 (seems you got a A1)
they're cheap. I've seen as low as 500
and as high as 800.

What is this intake going to do for us? Forgive me if I'm wrong, but it just looks like a box. I thought that if you wanted better flow it would be a good idea to design it without corners (sort of like a kidney bean shape or something similar) - better flow, etc. Isn't the plastic one which is installed now essentially the same??

Go outside and take your factory manifold off and you'll see why. I was looking at the factory one that was on the N/A civic he had in his shop. If I don't notice any gains from the new manifold, I'll be getting my money back. I'm pretty confident that it will be worth it though. I just wish I had the time to install it. It's raining and I'm really busy at home and school.

Shiiznet, for less than $500 I could probably fabricate one of those....It appears to be stainless (probably 304), welded together. All you need is the factory intake for a pattern of the mounting flange (or measurements thereof). 4 intake runners (probably 2.5-3" SS 304 tube), 1 6" diameter SS 304 pipe for the "box", caps welded on the ends, another connection flange for the TB, and mounting place for the sensors......
If you can weld, you can make your own....it doesn't look that tough.

Go for it if you have the machines and welding skills. I don't have the time, nor the material. You also need to ports that is in the back of the manifold. One is for the Brake Boost and the other is for a vacuum connection. You have to have those

woohoo!!!!
got mine today

actually holding it in my hands right now.
its not as impressive as i thought it would be, but i think i just hyped it up in my head too much. the quality is solid.
It came with install instructions that cover the stuff that is not obviouse on the install.
It shouldn't be too hard to put in. I'll install it as soon as my gtechpro gets in.

Mine was shipped on Friday. Might sell it though. Still debating.
I could install it and have it as the last mod for my 2k2 or I could sell it and put the money towards the hatch I am gonna buy to drop a B into.
