Huh? 395.4hp - 333.6hp = +61.8hp ...and that's with the 395.4hp Cobra running at 7psi while the 333.6hp Cobra running at 8psi.
FYI, an average stock SVT makes about 365RWHP, so with an exhaust and h-pipe, ~30hp is still pretty nice.

Rep Power: 0 Yeah, I just subtracted the best HP ratings from car #124 and car #132. Didn't notice the engine tick. I'll take 30hp though.
Time to start saving my pennies. Funny how #125 is 2nd only to the modded Viper GTS.

Rep Power: 377 believe me... it'd be nice to get 30hp from an exhaust. but on the flip side, just goes to show how unrestrictive and well tuned our imports are from the factory.
It is widely known by now that the blown Cobra iron block is conservatively
rated by Ford. "Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords" this month documented an
independent dyno of a stock 2003 Cobra at 365 hp at the rear wheels. This
is consistent (and conservative) with other sources. What driveline loss
figure do you want to use? 15%? That would put its stock net HP at about
429. The magazine said only 420. Guess what? The magazine found another
55 HP in the car by installing a K&N, long-tube headers and a Flowmaster
exhaust and removing the intake silencer. The car leaves the factory with a
restrictive exhaust for noise standards. Uncork it and a latent 55
streetable hp shows up! This motor has power and is the real deal. It's
also pushing a car that weighs about 500 pounds more than a C5. It's pretty
easy to see your way to 500 hp with mods and factory durability. Also, you
should know this is an iron block version of the SVT 4 cammer, heavily
fortified. The previously naturally aspirated aluminum block version
attained about 370hp with a change of heads and intake without a
supercharger. In stock form, BTW, the original SVT 4 cammer delivers at
least 80% of peak torque throughout a band from 1200rpm - 6800rpm. Ford bit
the bullet on overhead cam engines early in the last decade for reasons of
refinement, efficiency and tightening emissions standards. Certainly
there's no question that the engine is smoother and more refined than the
LS1 that was put in a comparable car, the Camaro/Firebird. Now you can
argue that GM met the tighter standards anyway with a pushrod design, but
even the General is moving to multi-valve engines, to the point of
pioneering development of a dual-cam-in-block design to get there while
retaining some of the advantages of pushrods.
Rep Power: 377 saiyan matador, I do happen to know just a tad bit about cars.
Pestlnc, that is interesting read. But certainly along the lines of many domestics. LS1's are also known for being able to free up a lot of HP with little in breathing mods. Glad you found that post.
