its on the second piece, the one that makes it a cold air...my pinky finger can fit in the hole, and ya i can use duct tape but why should i have to? it looks like it was rubbing up against something down there, and after enough time, it got through it..
ya i know u can run it, but i didnt want the no resonator sound, i dont like it ne more, i rather be safe and have it all back to stock!

What I would do is get a little piece of sheet metal, and form it with a ballpeen hammer or soft mallet of some sort, you would probably even bend it with your hand. and just make it nice and flush with the curve of the intake and solder it on. if it rubs out again just warm it up and take it off and do it again. Just be carefull with the soldering so you don't melt the intake and you should be fine. If you aren't good at soldering J.B Weld would work but more of a one time deal.
Don't know if thats something you are interested in but thats what I would do. cheap fix too

If its the InJen CAI, I can see that happening. InJen provided a piece of rubber to attached to the cold-air extension because it does rub against the fenderwall and a piece of metal. I had to used duct tape to secure it correctly because it slide around a bit.
Email the manufacturer and ask about warranty.

If it's AEM CAI, then I have the same problem, but not as severe as yours. I found it before it become a hole. Ok, the detail: the damaging happen at the lower pipe. Basically, if you look carefully, the metal hook that secure your cr battery, the L-section of the hook at the base of battery platform will stick out about half an inch or so. And the AEM downpie is pretty close to the end of the hook. as car move, the pipe vibrate and rub again the hook. AS time goes on, the pipe will be degraded till a hole is there. I found out fine before a hole is made through. And I wrap the end of the hook, and the degraded area of the pipe with normal black electrical tape. so that when they rub, two pices of rubbers are rubbing.
Another solution will be, u just need to cut stick-out section of the hook by about 1/8 in, that should provide more than enough clearnace to prevent the rubbing.Hope that help.

I am wondering if you couldnt take it to a muffler shop or a machine shop and have them repair it somehow for you by welding or soldering in a piece.
Just a suggestion.
