AEM Pully
Okay call me the stupid guy on here, but what in the world does a pully do? I mean what does it improve or help? Just wanted to know, thanks! There are pulley's on accessories and such like a/c, power steering, crank shaft etc.. The pulley kit is lighter weight and larger, which is easier to turn and your motor can use the extra HP at the wheels
claim to add about 5 ponies...
claim to add about 5 ponies... A pully reduces the speed at which your engine accessories spin - so its easier for the engine to move them (ie - A/C alternator, power steering pump) Are there gains to be had? Probably some, but not a whole lot. Its just part of the whole performance picture. Hopefully some who have one will post their experiences...

does the pulleys have any effect on the alternator? my friend bought a set of aem pulleys for his 98 accord, and his battery started to die out every couple of hours. we replaced the battery three times, same result. until we jus took off the alternator pulley. anyone have that kinda prob?

If the guy makes mostly short trips and starts and stops the engine a lot, maybe it never has time to fully charge the battery. Also a bad voltage regulator won't allow alternator to charge the battery fully. Sometimes a bad battery connection or cable can be at fault. This would also be indicated by intermittent starting problems.
