Arospeed Front Mounted Intake, Why so bad?

I was interested in getting a CAI for my car. A few auto place around my area told me to get an found mounted intake. I wanted to make sure this would be a good choise so I came to check here; but didn't find any thing good about it. All I found when i did the search was about people saying that its not good but didn't gave any reason of why not. Has it been dyno? does it make you car lose HP? or does it just restrict the air coming into the radiator?

Thanks for your help in advance.

The reason it is not good is because it sucks up water like you would not believe. To stop that they changed the design and added a plastic cover that now makes it suck air from behind. OOOO nice warm engine air. this cover is removable and takes it back to tha same design.

Not only that CHEAP filter and are cheaply manufactured.

Would a bypass valve work on this? (with the intake taking in water)

also with this cover that goes on it, you get absolutly no air coming from outside, its about as good as a Short ram intake, they hsould have at lelast put some wholes in the plexi glass cover they put on it...
Dont buy it, get a good old CAI system

bypass valves only work if the hose is sucking in all water. they are a waste of dinero, unless you like driving in ponds.

Just get you an aem cold air intake and by a bypass valve so you don't worry about getting any water in there.

See the only reasson why I wanted to get it is because it looks different. But if it will be the same as a short ram them i'll better off getting an Injen CAI.

Thanks for all your in-put.
