Good day. I am a old school hot r9d kindnof guy. I run and drive a 49 merc rat rod. I just bought a 2005 civic si coupe for my 16 yr old boy to drag race at our local track. This wont be a street car. We stripped everthing out of the car incl headliner, rear seats and carpet incl door panels to reduce weight. Seeing i have always been a old v8 guy what can i do for my son like nitrous or exhaust to make this car fun and inexspensive to run.
thanks in advance for any advice.
cheers

K swap or turbo are basically your only options for large HP gains.

As i'm sure you know....how much do i want to spend is in direct correlation of how fast the car will go...
I would highly suggest looking into a new stand alone ecu like a ktuner or hondata then decide what you want to do.

For a cheap drag dedicated car
-weight reduction
-open header (if permitted)
-Nos
-lsd
-racing clutch
-drag radials
