need more power!
can a stock 7th gen civic si ( ex in the states) beat a stock celica gt 140hp or even a cavalier z24 150hp???? I didnt race them yet but i think i'd loose 
So I come to you guys to help me out! 
question is what parts should i put on my car to give it more go to beat those cars??? but as little cost as possible just 20 got a baby so on a budget.Thanks in advance!!!
Buy the way, here were i live, up north alberta in my town, there's just 2 civics "ex" the other is this hot chick!! so people around here drive around sunfire cav. and yes neon, cause to go to honda toy. nissan or something good like that you got to drive 3 hrs... for my civic its worth it!!!
i was told a cai would almost do it, wich i got one but its el cheapo i'm gonna have to get rid of it latter( bote it when i bought the car didnt know much=got reapt off and boght a vibrant)

Rep Power: 328 Bolt-ons won't do anything but make your car sound "faster". If you want speed either swap the motor or go turbo. To make more than 5-10 HP you need to spend about $5,000.

alberta_si, short of building your engine or getting nitrous or turbo, you're not going to be able to beat a 140hp Celica. Intakes can actually detract from your low end, exhausts are just noise. General rule of thumb for our cars seems to be if it bolts on, you're not gonna get any noticable power increase.
Whoever told you a CAI would bring you close to competing with a 140-150hp compact car obviously doesn't have any experience with either a SOHC Civic or a CAI.

Rep Power: 0 so i should concetrate on my own plessure and go for handling and simple things t'ill i can afford a turbo. Thanks for the quick response! I'll start saving for turbo or even in a year or two a wrx my friend as one looks sweet!

Rep Power: 0 suspension isn't simple. You gotta get what you like. There have been people here changing springs, coilovers, shocks, rims, tires, sway bars until they get what they like. And have spent a bitch load on all of it. Ask people that autocross alot on their input, also troll the suspension forum. You the search button so people like me don't bitch you out. I do it alot especially on a bad day. So thats my warning to use the search button or else. lol. So happy modding.

Yes, as they said above, Bolt-Ons(exaust,intake,header) won't give you much power at all...Only a Turbo or a RSX-S engine will give you a lot of power to beat those Celicas, Z24, preludes and sh1xx. So don't do anything stupid that'll waste your money for now if you really wanna go for the SPEED.

I spent 400$ and gained atleast 5-10 whp with just these mods
Kamikaze header 200$
2 1/4 exhaust pipes all the way to muffler 100$
Aem Short ram. 100$
Maybe on an EX with bolts ons you wont notice much, but on an lx bolt ons give good power.
