Ricers say V8s get shitty gas mileage. Then why do Z06's get 19/28 mpg city/hwy? Have you ever seen the 427 Lingenfelter Twin turbo Corvette?? It gets 18/26 mpg, city/hwy. That has a relatively mild tune as well! Even if the Lingenfelter setup has 900 hp, that is better than some V6 Camrys and a stock Twin turbo Poopra!

Any car will get shitty gas mileage if you have your foot on the gas every time you drive!!

Ive seen K20A2's that are not even 220 hp with I/H/E run 13.8. Its proven. Not that that is super fast or anyhting, but your low 15 to high 14 estimate is way off.

Could i assume the K20A 220hp ITR is even faster with I/H/E mods? Even more faster with comparable internal work and tune?

Have you ever heard a thing about DAs? Does Density Altitude make any sense to you? 13.8 @ what mph??? Trap speeds are important as well. A car running 13.8@94 mph vs a car running 13.8@100 has a determining factor of how well you used the power. MPH = how much raw power you have. Of course I'd rather run my car on a sea level track or a valley rather than 2000 ft up. Does the fact a driver must be good enough to get into that ET? The first 60' is about 60-70% of the race. Apparently there are many noobs basing quarter and eight mile performance by their 0-60 mph time here. They also ignore the fact that DAs really play a role to determining performance. The kid I know here mustered a best of 14.7@92 mph at the Bradenton Motorsports park. He was stuck in the 15.1xs @ 90.xx mph for the rest of the 5 hour track session. Imports cars like Hondas are overrated here and when a nicely built 350" V8 F-Body pulls up and revs, they back down horrendously!

I was originally talking about cost effectiveness vs reliabilty. I forgot to mention the fact that cars are unreliable and break down because of neglect!! Then, it was gas consumption and performance part integrity and availabilty. Of course, you get what you pay for! It is rather obvious that getting a high performance waterpump for a Small Block Chevy is much easier than obtaining one for a Honda Civic. I am letting people know that $1000 does not give a Honda Civic 100 more hp. If it was a Chevy, it would be quite plausible!!

some guys I used to work with think import = rice, even if its a bone stock import.. and thats ok they're entitled to their own opinion, I'd love to have a performance car for weekends n stuff, but i'd still keep my civic for daily driving or an import in general. just due to the track record of 250k+ out of most hondas, nissans, toyotas. my cousin had a ford ranger that he sold @ 250k was in mint condition too, he kept it immaculate. Im aware that domestics can last, and they sound better than tiny engines, of course. both sides have pros and cons, and there are just as many "stupid redneck hicks" as "stupid idiot ricers" ... whats your point? Imports are just trendy now, what was trendy before imports?
