Cherrybombs?
Cherrybombs?
I don't know a lot about Hondas and exhausts and my dad is the one who does and I've heard people talking about Cherrybombs to make your exhaust louder and I was wondering what do I buy to do that?
I'm interested in cherry bombs but do I buy the muffler, exhaust tops? I really just don't know and I'm new to a lot of this so any advice is appreciated

Typically, us old-schoolers would call any red colored straight-thru glasspack muffler a Cherry Bomb:

They were the "cats' meow" for all V8 muscle cars, and wannabe muscle cars.
So was jacking the rear end up high and big back tires.
And STP stickers.

Last I knew, you could still buy a plain Bomb from AutoZone.
Check the website http://www.cherrybomb.com/
But there are many other brands and styles of performance exhaust for imports. I'd think someone will chime in with more real soon.
Re: Cherrybombs?
Yea you can buy them at parts stores.
Not sure how they would help with a Honda since like ezone said they are made for v8's.
I believe Cherry Bomb does make a 4 cylinder muffler. Might be Flowmaster.
Did you check out the exhaust thread?

Re: Cherrybombs?
in general, "Cherry Bombs" make Hondas (or any other small 4-cylinder) sound like crap. They are very raspy and loud, because they hardly do anything. On a V8, you don't have that problem, since the engine is much larger and throatier.
For Honda's, generally speaking, here is the proper way to do an exhaust....(with piping between the components of course)
-header/exhaust manifold
-catalytic converter
-resonator
-muffler
The resonator and muffler combo are really what give the car its sound. The resonator's main function is the cancel out the raspiness of the exhaust. So the longer the resonator, the less rasp (in theory. with a crappy muffler, a resonator can only do so much...). The standard size resonator is 14" or 18".
Now the muffler is what really gives the car its sound. As with many things in life, the more you are willing to spend, the better quality and sounding product you can get. $30 eBay mufflers will not sound like a $300 Apexi WS2 muffler. Some good quality exhausts for Hondas are Magnaflow, Apexi WS2, Greddy SP2, Greddy Evo2, Vibrant, Thermal R&D, etc. You just have to look on Youtube, and find what you like.
