Help extreme newbie :(!!!

Hi, first i just wanted to say thank you in advance to anyone that could possible help me with my idea. I live in Nor Cal, and to be completely honest, i know very VERY little when it comes to cars, but i'm learning. Anyways, i have a 05 D17 civic coupe, and i want to increase its horsepower to it's max without

1. buying a new motor.
2. NOS

All that i have done to the car, was installed two 10 Cera Vega Subs, and one 1,000 WAT amp. replaced the original spark plugs with Bosch titanium plugs, and removed the resiginator and the mufffler of the civic, and had a weld shop put on a cherrybomb . So my car sounds like an SRT 4 now with the exhaust tip. Anyways, my last idea was to put on a K&N Intake system for the civic, the SMOG legal ones, cuz im an idiot when it comes to putting on and taking off parts, so i would rather spend more money to put something on once and to completely forget about it. Anyways basically im asking anyone if they have any other ideas to get the max hp out of my car without the two exceptions above i would greatly appreciate it. BTW i am kinda anti-JDM... I hang out with a Volvo 240 team, so yea apologizes in advance .

Thanks, and i hope to be back on here with more questions .

Oh btw, i did think about turbo, but i heard it would be extremely bad for a DH-17 motor... So if anyone has done it on a 05 civic, tell me how much would it cost to put one on the motor... that would not destroy the engine!!!!

Thanks again Guys!

well you are off to a bad start lol. all the weight from the subs isnt gonna help. get some forged rims, denso or ngk plugs (bosch are suck), and yeah get a brand name intake. K&N has lousy filters tho so look at getting aem dryflow paper filter instead.

Re: Help extreme newbie :(!!!

yeah the stock plugs prolly woulda been better. Take out the subs and that stuff, these small motors dont make a ton of torque n/a so any added weight pretty much amplifies that. You probably arent going to get any noticable gains with this setup without getting a little more involved.

horsepower yields bragging rights, torque yields fastness.

Re: Help extreme newbie :(!!!

i would skip the k&n filter and go with a AEM short ram or cold air intake system. they perform way better and in reality arent that expensive for what you get.
