Ya turbo is not an intake its a total different story. And there is CAI which is cold air intake, SRI which is short ram intake, and there is also performance airbox intakes.

Re: newbie intake question
on your car you have a stock air box (not sure what year you have, would help to know). this is basically a resinator, which keeps the sound down for "normal" people, and a fliter box. the filter box houses your air intake filter, which scrubs the air of dirt and junk that you don't want in your engine. people replace the stock system with cai (cold air intakes) or sri (short ram intakes), for style in the engine bay, a deeper and more agressive sound and if you are tuning and have supporting modes, more hp. my car is stock except the intake (sri, made by k&n), i noticed quicker throttle response and the sound is awesome! cai and sri are direct bolt on. meaning you unbolt the stock air box and bolt on the aftermarket item, no tuning or major engine work. now forced induction on the other hand uses either a supercharger or a turbocharger. forced induction (FI) forces more air into your engine then it would suck in under normal conditions. a supercharger uses belts to spin a turbine and push air into your engine. a turbocharger is a supercharger that gets the energy to spin the turbine from your exhaust rather than belts. in this way a turbo charger is more efficient because it's using the energy of your escaping exhaust to push the turbine instead of using more fuel to turn a belt. that being said any FI setup will burn way more gas then stock, more HP more fuel used. a turbo charger takes longer the feel the boost since it has to wait for exhaust to use but usually creates higher gains in performance once it's active, over a supercharger. a supercharger is active form the moment you step on it but the belt driven systems usually won't make the power a turbo can. any FI system requires major engine work and many supporting modes and a tune of money. hope this helps!
