oh. if you just want to read CEL engine light codes, there is a cheap $30 code reader on ebay that works great. if you want something better, goto the auto parts store and pick up an obdII diagnostic unit. they can be upwards of $500 tho. If you want something that actually controls how the car works like vtec engagement, fuel trims, etc then you want apexi vafcII (vtec), safcII (non-vtec) or greddy emanage.

just read codes and some expensive ones look at sensor info. if you want something for speed, rpm, 1/4, hp, etc get the apexi rev/speed meter or something similar.

I was talking to the guys on www.mp3car.com and apparently it's not hardware dependant. You get the same hardware, but it's all in the software to be able to read and tune certain things. So I can just buy the regular reader and use the software they're using to get all the readings I want.
