OMG....r u guys kidding me? do you even have any idea wut you're talkin about? im thinkin the only reason you bought a civic is because you saw that movie...? first of all, a fuel management system will always be beneficial, but probably not how you want. lets just say that you do buy a fuel management system, such as the AEM plug-n-play EMS. so you got you lil LAPTOP sittin on your passenger seat all hooked up... wut do u do? lmao.... you would need to know WHY in the first place you bought this thing! these systems allow you to manually control your fuel system, allowing you to manipulate better gas mileage out of your car, and mainly in the goal of getting power gains. but with a 7thgencivic... its most likely that all you have is the basic INTAKE/HEADER/EXHAUST...if that. this will prolly lead you to get gains up to 10hp, IF THAT. so basically you just spent about $140/pony....not to mention the other $1500 on a laptop, just to sit in your car and collect dust cuz its pretty much pointless unless your running an engine with some ACTUAL INTERNAL MODS, or possibly even the CUSTOM TURBO that everyone is talkin about these days on this site.
and to shed some light on the thread title, umm, hello.... OBD-II is the type of ECU. not an aftermarket fuel management system.
this has been another segment brought to you from NOOBS-R-US... until next time... g'nite!

ok first of all i said nothin about purchasing a fuel management system, i am not even thinking of doing that, second, there is also an OBD-II program that u use on a computer or laptop linked to your ecu that lets you tune certain aspects of your engines performance. What aspects im not sure cause i didnt read that much about it when i got the program. I know the program is customizable to your cars features though. And third the only reason i have a civic is because my grades werent good enough to get anything better. so i got stuck with the nest best thing to a low cost sporty car like an eclipse, celica, rsx, wrx etc...

Dude OBD-II is so hard to moddify, if your serious about this you need to convert to OBD-I, then it is so much easier to mod your P-Rom and crap.

There are available OBD II computers that are tunable in the market right? I've heard of the power-FC from apex. Though I think it's for the B16 and RX-7 only. but maybe they'll make one... well they are bound to make one again for the K20 or K series engine right?
