Hello all

I did some reading up on headers and exhaust and i just have a couple questions...

i have an 01 civic ex coupe,with stock header and cat, i just put a cat back apexi ws2 exhaust on and the muffler doesnt really seem to be any louder than the stock one. I was wondering if i replaced the headers if that would help give it a louder tone? Also what header(brand) is the best for these civics? and what style : 4-2-1 or a 4-1?

I had one of those cheap "greddy style" exhausts from ebay on my car and it was really loud even with the silencer in and the gaskets did not seal SO i am just looking to get a little more noise from the muffler not too much.

i have an after market hi flow cat pipe that goes from the header down and bolts on to the first peice of my apexi exhaust, would that do anything as far as making the muffler a little louder?

I noticed that when i had this hi flow cat pipe on with the cheap ebay exhaust that it made my check engine light come on... so i am not sure whether its worth it to put that hi flow cat back on and i am also not sure what i part i need to buy to make the check engine light go out ( although ive heard some talk about one on this website). I dont really want to slice wires for the o2 sensor either.

i dont have anything else on the engine yet so i dont want to do something that would make me loose power either.

any suggestions??

I'm cant answer ur question however I'm sure that someone else already has.

Click on that little search button on the top of the page and type in "headers" and then "hi flow cat" after that and read up what other members have already said. You might be able to figure it out w/ 15min of reading...

So much to say...

If you wanted a loud exhaust, then you shouldn't have purchased the exhaust touted as the quietest performance exhaust system.

I installed my DC header then WS2 so I can't verify if the header will make the exhaust louder. If you want extra noise, get an intake. My AEM SRI and exhaust are loud enough for me.

You will be looking for a 4-1 header, unless you go with a 4-2-1 race header, which will be louder.

If you do not want a CEL then you will have to address the 02 sensor. If you do not, then the CEL will send your engine into limp mode.

There are several threads with exhaust reviews, header reviews, intake reviews, etc. Read up then start buting stuff. Apparently a couple of exhaust reviews would have saved you the $450 on the WS2.
