Intake diameter size

Hi.
I have a quick question about the diameter of the intake pipe.
Is there a big different among the 2.5", 3.0", and 3.5" intake pipe?
thank you!!!

3.5 - 3.0 = 0.5
3.0 - 2.5 = 0.5
3.5 - 2.5 = 1.0

HA HA HA hahahahah...that's funny sh*it.
But he's right, his math is correct. Are you asking about the flange diameter of your
intake so you can get a universal filter or what ??

Well, I believe the actual inlet to the throttle body is going to be the same size for all of our cars, unless you get a monster throttle body or something later, in which yes, the larger the diameter the throttle body inlet, the more air it can pull and the better the engine can breathe. I think my AEM is about 3.0"......correct me if I'm wrong.

Actually, I have a question of my own...does anyone know the flange diameter for the inlet on the AEM's....CAI or SRI ???

Good Choice on the Akimoto...I plan on doing the same. I love the front inlet on those....The K&N's waste all that front space on the filter. Except for the X-Treme filters by K&N, those are cool too.

but how does the HKS filter perform compare with the K&N filter?
Cause i heard people saying K&N make the best intake filter, so i am wondering is it worth it to pay $80 for a HKS filter

The HKS filter looks like it would be more for form than function....meaning it has the looks.
But I want to get a Akimoto filter....those and K&N's in my opinion are the best.
