D17 cam shaft?

Will the D16 cam shaft fit the D17 and has any one tried it?

thats an interesting question, might want to be careful testing it though since they are different displacement. not sure how much .1 L will do when chosing a camshaft but u never know.

well it may or may not work.. since the d16 uses a distributor.. it probablly wont work on the d17

wouldn't it make a difference on the timing of your valves! depending on if your vtec head as well! as for timing, i would see there being a difference using a D16 cam! but then again i may be wrong?

I could forsee the gear playing a role, but if you're taking the cam from a d16 into a d17, the gear shouldn't make any difference (take for example RWD ka24de in 240sx's...they are RWD so the dist doens't run off the cam, like it does in the Altima..however you can take altima cams and run them in the RWD engine..)

well yeah i know theres a gear for it, but as long as its not hitting anything it wouldnt really matter. it could spin there all it wants.
