Well since I don't want to spend the money on a turbo, and nitrous wouldn't work so hot with an automatic, I guess I'm left with a stock civic. I really wish I would have bought the manual ,but I was concerned it would be a hassle for stop and go freeway driving. So... my thoughts about intake, exhaust and a header providing very little performance seem to be confirmed by most people's comments. Oh well, guess I'll have to focus on some other aspect.

with the turbo kit are you going to keep the other components stock? Wouldn't you start to see gains from a new exhaust, header and intake when you are running boost? Because the way I look at it, if you get a turbo and keep the rest stock you are probably not extracting full potential from the turbo, but if you just get the other stuff you don't get any gains, it looks to me likes it is all or nothing. what kind of output do you think you will be getting with a turbo? I can't imagine getting more than 30-40 more horsepower unless you want to put significant stress on your engine.

let me save you before the flame you, like they flamed me: If you get a turbo kit, its going to come with a charge-pipe(which replaces intake) and a custom header, so thats why its no point to get an intake or header if your going to get a turbo. When most people say there getting a turbo, everyones thinking a kit, however if you dont get a kit and decide to piece one together, the i/h/e combo is what you'll want, but youll have to do custom welds. You can still get an exhaust in either case, since thatll mount right on, and work with your turbo setup. <----- See us newbs do learn.....

ditto 3 to 7 grand
turbo or swap and that is all. The N/a setip on d17 is already maxed out

Did you guys see that kid that put the 99" Civic intake manifold on his Civic, that was cool, but who know how much and what you get for power?

Step 1: Sell your stock tires and get ones that actually grip pavement.

Well... JP375 have a point.

Suspension upgrade is one of the best mod you can made to 7th Gen Civics. Stock suspension arquitecture is well designed, but the car is too high, wich first, looks bad, and seccond everybody with a 7th gen civic knows they are really bouncy, so stock suspension might be well designed but not appropiate for our cars, at least 2001-2002, cause for 2003-04 they feel less bouncy.
When I installed my H&R w/ Tokico Shocks, I felt really pleased with the updgrade, and I still pleased and I believe that the best thing I've done to the car. And yes, your car will handle better under any driving conditions, slow or fast driving,

I've been asking myself for a long time if that mod could be done on our cars and I believed it could not be done because of the little space between engine and the car's firewall. But when I saw that post I was really surprised!! And I believe it have to give power to our engines, just look at it, air goes more directly and organized to the cylinders, plus that fat part of the manifold works great as a plenum, and it works even much better than the B16A2 intake manifold. D17 intake manifold is too short and the air is not maneged as well as the D16Y8's manifold does.

um ppl have made alot of power with turbos, u just need to do som internal buildup, i beleive that a member names catylist made 300 hp an 290 ft. tq. with a turbo, i think it was 14 psi, but his tranny broke, with a little internal mods u can make some good numbers
