the point of having a SS is so you have shorter and tighter throws, not so the shifter is shorter (even though with some applications it turns out that way)

from what i understand, the ss for our cars are all suppose to be oem height...due to the fact that the shifter is already positioned soo close to the floor, any lower would just be inconvenient and out of reach for most drivers....after examining my friend's revo ss and my b&m short shifter, the height is exactly the same....

having a "shorter" shifter (height wise) is a good thing, because if you study physics, having a shorter arm is the quickest way to get from point a to point b, hense shifting gears from gear 1 to gear 2, but keep in mind, because the shifting is so fast and having to be so precise, you'll miss gears like there's no tomorrow...which is a bad and dangerous thing...and it's also harder to shift (but won't make a difference since you're not carrying any weight on the otherside) so for some people who like the shifter to look like the rx7's shifter, which is almost not there cause it's so short, they would usually cut it...which gives them even a shorter throw, but is harder to shift and also can grind more easily (even pop out of gear cause the shifter needs a counterweight to keep it there...)

honestly, it all comes down to personal preference..some people like it to sit low, some people like the oem height...personally i like the oem height because i'm tall and my seat is all the way back, my arms are long, but just long enough to touch the shifter and to shift gears, if it sat any lower, it'd be hard to shift into 1,3,5th gear...

i hope this all made sense..i'm kinda cracked out right now from too much hw
