Aem Short Ram Intake
I just installed the AEM SRI on my 01 EX A/T. It was an easy install. There is no difference in the sound unless you punch it. I noticed no drop in lower rpms at all. FWIW, on Aempower.com they have published dynos of different civics with different products. For example, for my car the SRI actually provided my hp and torque over a wider range then with the V2. It was a very easy install.

yeah, about 3k is right....again it depends on the demand for air/fuel you're making. If I'm casually cruising on the freeway at 3k rpm, it'll sound normal, if I dip into the throttle right around 3k you hear the change.....sounds cool too (not ricey)
I reset my ECU...I had my battery disconnected during the install just to be safe anyway....I pulled the ECU fuse (there is only one) for about 10 min while I cleaned up, started the car w/o touching the gas and let it run for 10 min. I turned the car off then turned it back on (again w/o touching the gas). No check engine lights came on so I guess I did it right. You'll need your radio code though.

how about i let it learn on its own..and not touch ECU or unplug battery...is it safe this way also??? will it affect my engine?? like harm it in neway....or is resetting just a faster way...instead of learning on its own?? thanks
let it idle 10 min (no throttle), turn it off. Then turn it back on again (no need to let it idle a long time again, still no throttle), turn it off...............turn it back on and go check it out.

Read the DIY's and all info you can find. You can do it!

Why spend over $100 when you can get one of Ebay for $30, shipping and all. I mean, they all kinda do the same thing....just make noise. As far as performance, I agree... leave the stock intake on. If you like noise, just buy a cheap one until you change your mind. If you get tired of the short ram, or if you notice it making your car perform worse you are not out much that way.
Don't waste your money folks. Sure, the Ebay one might not look as nice because it doesn't come with a colored pipe but if all you are wanting is sound it's a good deal. Thanks to Gearbox for enlightening me!
Have fun!
