Fuel Cooler

Does anyone have a fuel cooler installled in their car? It's a small container that has extra piping rolled like a coil within the can that's install in the engine bay before the fuel hits the fuel rail. You add ice and water in the can and it cools the fuel before it reaches the combusion chamber.... you can find these at JEGS.

I just want to see if it's well worth the $$$ of if i should make my own =)

It would be worthless to even use probably. I can see it's benefit on a high compression, or forced induction motor, but not on a I/H/E car. If it were possible to cool the fuel enough, it would be able to lower cylinder temperatures. I'm sure full out race motors, and hi boost TC or SC cars would benefit from it at least somewhat to prevent detonation, and cars that need larger fuel pumps, are subject to higher fuel temperatures, but depends on the actual location and lph of the pump, how the lines are run, and at what pressure. In those cases it's more about whether the fuel is in danger of reaching a temperature high enough to cause a vapor lock. But it wouldn't help a stock car.
