Official ENGINE BUILD TOGETHER EVENT!!! Well, I see everyone wants motor or internal upgrades.
Personally, this is what I wanna add to the lineup:
Cams (RS, Skunk2, Crower)
Pistons (Arias, SRP, JE, CP)
Rods (Crower, Pauter, ?, ?)
Full valvespring and retainer set ( SOHC engine heads flow so well so with some high reving all motor on sohc is quite nice!!)
I want to get a petiiton starting to any of these companies, crower probably number one to start manufacturing products for our cars. The demand is high and the d17 has only been tampered with, not fully blown yet

I will be sponsoring the whole process and will work close with you guys to get results. We wont stand down!

Cams for N/A would be awesome. NOT a regrind, but the actual camshaft itself!!! Lots of people are waiting for this...
Okay, and cams for turbo'ed peeps as well.

Well last week I talked to a Rep for MSD Ignition and he told me that they are having a whole new concept of ignition systems for the 2001-up Civics and the Integra/RSXs coming out at the end of the year, or first quarter of next year. He did not give me too much detail but he told me that it is going to be a whole new product made just for the new Hondas. I always see him at the Drags so I will ask him to give me some more details.
No it is not internals, but at least it is some sort of new mod.
vtec eliminator cams have lobe specs that are aggressive the entire way. that means a crappy high idle and no low end power. Its for race use only kind of-- yet people still buy them for their cars

naww j/k it all depends on the results you are going for performance and drivability, street performance, or just fully built sohc.
i am definately interested in some internals! and i plan on boosting later in the year.

Talked to a rep named Brian at Crower and this is what I got:
Crower makes premium billet rods for around $640 US
JE makes custom pistons for the d17 for $600 US
THey said if you want cam work and headwork, they need a guinee pig or someone to send their head off to them and they will screw around with it and mix and match parts. I want to know what everyone thinks and if anyone knows any more info on parts.

if this is the only place to go after I/H/E then count me in cause i still am not satisfied with how fast my car is, as long we can can keep it carb legal thats all i care about
Wow, the return rate of your interest is awsome. Ok, the deal is they would tamper with the head, but you would pay for all the parts created. Ofcourse, I would sell em to you at cost or as cheap as crower would give to me (guinee pig person). Let me know if anyone is interested. I mean, there are a few who have volunteered, but it is best if you have an extra motor and head. A new motor is 300 of ebay FYI. Just let me know what you all want to do.

Rep Power: 383 i would donate like 20 bucks towards buying a motor in order for someone to try out these parts , ill do whatever i can to try and get new parts for our cars sign anything just an idea

Seriously though a head assembly runs for about $300+ dollars. I think if Crower is learning off our engine parts they should give us the first part free so someone can test it out. I mean what if they screw it up? Are they going to reimburse us the cost of a new one?
Like I said before I have an engine and I am willing to donate parts to the cause but I will not pay the expense for someone else to learn on and possibly ruin the parts.
I'm sure if the parts turn out to be successful many others will pay for the service and Crower will make their money back and then some. It's kind of one of those you scratch our backs and we'll scratch yours.
