mine rattles at high rpms all of the sudden. and on colder mornings, it feels like the filter hits the bumper when you hit the throttle, i already tried moving the filter in as much as i could....no difference.

I have AEM and no problems. How many have switched from Injen and AEM, or other brands to K & N???

Try using a K&N air filter in the stock air box. Its only $30 compared to $200. Its not as big of an increase, 1 or so, but you dont have to worry about rubbing. Did Injen ever contact you yet?

Of course not. I knew they weren't going to stand behind it... this is how all these companies do business. You buy it, then they don't give a ****.
I really don't care, my Icebox is just about done.

hmmm

word on aem is good right? got a v2 and it seems to fit with plenty of room around it, and i do notice a quite significant power increase from that alone (tires slip much easier now from just the intake)

Mine is pretty bad like that too, I caught it about a year ago and put this like . . . silicone, double sided tape thing over the damaged part and trimmed away the metal it was hitting. No more problems but it still sucks that they would sell something like that. They should have added another bracket somewhere on the piping.

I just took the car out to my "fun road". The bottom end came back, the top end is gone. So I guess I can no longer say the intake did nothing. I'll tinker around with it, see if I can find a nearly stock-type setup. Obviously having some kind of box rather than an open ended filter plays to the low end, but it does feel like the car is getting a little choked up above 6K. I'm thinking I can cut up the Injen piping and either build a new box to surround the cone filter I have, or get an Integra or EM1 Si airbox and modify that to fit in the car where the resonator sits. Time for ol' Boiler to get creative...

Anyone know what type of plastic the air box is made out of? Somekind of nylon or something?
Be sure to post pics of the finished product.
