Good find!

Thanks I'm looking. Hoping to find a reasonably priced RSX. But I may just wind up putting it back to stock for a deal like this.

Well 400 plus labor unless you do it yourself. Honda will most likely need to charge you to reprogram or reset something too.

no ECU? those numbers need to be matched for CA emmisions and what type of
tranny it takes otherwise it will not pass.

Honda will charge 80 bones for the ECU to be reprogrammed.

Nice find though!

For $325 I could not pass it up. I bought it! I never thought I would be excited purchasing a D17. Maybe I'm just excited my car might actually run now.

He qouted me $225 over the phone. This is from MA to AZ, ouch. But that complete price still puts me under the price of a rebuild. I've already been through the pain of a rebuild.

Not a bad idea! I will most likely put the engine I just bought in my car unfondled for now. Then I can possibly play with upgrading the old engine.

Now if only I can get my wife to approve this project.

prep the engine for boostage! But remember to stay within reliable power range of the d17. Dont go too nuts or you got a unreliable drag car....

I also found this interesting "THE ENGINE WAS REMOVED DUE TO A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE BOTTOM END,".

Besides I think the engine has a reserve price anyway. Be careful bidding on this one.

"THIS AUCTION IS FOR A COMPLETE ENGINE FROM A 2002 ACURA RSX TYPE S 5 SPEED CAR.THE ENGINE WAS REMOVED DUE TO A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE BOTTOM END,UPON VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE MOTOR THERE ARE NO HOLES OR CRACKS.THE ENGINE WAS REMOVED FROM A VEHICLE WITH APPROX 35K ON IT.THE ENGINE DOES COME WITH A COMPLETE WIRING HARNESS AS WELL AS A EXHAUST MANIFOLD INTAKE MANIFOLD AND NUMEROUS OTHER ACCESSORIES.PLEASE EMAIL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING.PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THIS MOTOR WILL NEED TO BE GONE THRU IF EXPECTED TO BE USED. "

The engine internal components are defective so the engine was removed basically. Its not a bargain at all....
but if it sells for 150 bucks maybe, but than you have no garuntee that the block itself maybe damaged in someway
otherwise
I wouldnt buy it or bid on it, to many questions need answering.....

That sounds like an awesome deal. Seems like you bought the whole front clip. Did you get that from a pull it yourself salvage yard or something?

im trying to find a d17 engine, or just the block right now. so i can build it up in my garage. pistons, rods, pnp. i went to 3 junkyards today with no luck. i looked everywhere on the internet. the only ones i found were on ebay, and the ones that were reasonably priced didnt bring anything, and then there were some that were priced at over a grand for the engine.
i remember i had seen like 3 d17s a while back going for like 450-900 for the complete engines. i should have bought one then damnit.
stupid christmas bah humbug...lol

Crackhead79,

I think this may be an EX. You may want to contact the seller for more info.

It must be an EX cause it says VTEC on the cover.
