SF NA header
we have been considering developing a naturally aspirated header for the D17 for a while now. I just need to know if it there would be enough interest to convince us to do it.
It will be a long tube equal length header. We will make them for both lx and ex models. They will be available in ceramic coated, or just painted with ceramic based paint.
Will sell for around $300. maybe more, maybe less. Wont know til we actually develop it.
Let me know if you would be interested

Interested... provided the stock catalytic converter is retained in it's stock location (its in the rules) and it adds to or retains the low end.

Is it just going to be the top section? If so, than $300 is a little high. If its a one peice that connects straight to the catback, getting rid of the catalytic converter, than it would be worth $300.
I got a top section header from Megan Racing for $100 shipped. I know that they are a no nmae company, but the header is very nice. Lot better than the DC Sports one.

actually, CARB numbers are important for more people than just california people. some of the other states automatically adopt CARB regulations because they are pretty strict. Cali just does the work for the other states in this case.

He's saying its going to be a LONG TUBE header. So I highly doubt it'll be a top section. Typically long tubes go down and under before they hit the collector.

i would be interested as long as it bypasses the cat. as long as you swap headers back by the time you go to emissions, i dont see how there coulbe be any problem. do you think you could make a 4-2-1 header if you bypass the cat, since no oen else makes one yet. im sure there would be major interest if it was a 4-2-1.

dude, thats a long time away. and a header is an extremely easy install. just a couple bolts and some o2 sensors. should take no longer than 30 min if you know what you are doing.

I am not sure about how we are going to make it. I am just seeing if there is any interest. It may get smog legal, but not right off the bat. It will bolt up to the stock exhaust, just like our downpipes. I may make it a 4-2-1 tri-Y header. Im not sure. I will probably offer different types, like a nice equal length, long tube, shorty; a long tube equal length full; and others. Probably ranging in price from $150 to $500
it depends were you are at in texas. if you are in a samll town then you can get away with just about anything as along as your headlights work but in dallas fort worth and other counties they are real strict like in cali. some counties are inspection counties some are not. i live in an inspection county but my grandparents do not so i use there address. and get my car inspected in there town :-)

if you do build a 4-2-1 race header w/o the cat i will defeniatly be the one of the first to buy it and will give great reviews for it. just let me know as soon as it is available, and i will send you the cash man.
