!!! Blinker switch missing?....
Okay well, I bought this 1986 1.5L CRX a month or two ago and it's missing the blinker switch assembly, seems like it was ripped, or taken out. I'm not sure. So, he gave me a 3-end connected wire cable. That I plug into this white box thing I pulled out of the steering column that seems to have Eight different slots of input, and a wires connecting into the column somewhere.
So, instead of paying $160 for a new turn signal switch, I'm thinking about making one with a 3-way-toggle switch? On/Off/On And a flasher Relay.
I have a diagram I horribly drew out on microsoft paint with a laptop. So may need to zoom into it. But, could someone help me get this to work? If I just connect wires into it, and connect it to the toggle, it will just most likely turn the signal lights on, and not blink, just the right/left side on. And I really don't want to flip it back and forth to simulate lol.
Any suggestions? Anyone that knows how to fix cheap, or finish the wiring diagram?
-Note: All the other open holes in the white-box-thing I do not know what they do really.

EDIT: In the Diagram, when I connect those three things that it's already connected to, it turns on dash lights, headlights, parking lights, and I think brake lights(or possibly brake lights just work by themselves, can't remember)
which I use for driving.

Re: !!! Blinker switch missing?....
I had a nice reply typed out and lost it....GRRRRRRRR

Here is a real simple diagram.
I have no idea what is intact or missing from your car.
You say you have a plug with 8 wires?
Can you give me the wire colors, stripe colors and all? Wait up.....
I'm gonna guess it was for the turn signals and the hazards since the hazard switch I see uses 8 wires and the TS switch may be part of it..... If you don't see these colors in the connector then let me know and I'll try to find another diagram at work.
I don't see a diagram for this car on the Honda site, so I am using Alldata. Kinda fuzzy.
I see 2 green/red
I see 2 green/white
I see 2 power wires, one is white/green and the other has no color ID here.
I see one for each sides' turn signals. Grn/yellow and Grn/B..? Looks like a small u. Damn fuzzy diagram.
Ready for wire fun?
Wire in your switch:
Right turn uses Green/Yellow wire.
Left turn uses Green/B something I can't read clearly. Maybe blue or black?
Center tap of switch to either of the two Green/Red wires.
Now make a jumper wire to power the flasher already in the car (I ASSUME it is still in there):
The wire that I have no color ID for is the one to use. Test it, it should have 12v+ only when the key is ON.
Connect it to either of the two Green/White wires.
Signals should work only when the key is on now. IF I guessed correct about what is left in the car to work with.

Re: !!! Blinker switch missing?....
Alright, this is great! For further detail so you know what I'm actually working with, i'll upload some clear pics on here of the car wiring tomorrow night. Thanks!
