installing a amp for 6.5'' speakers not subs
installing a amp for 6.5'' speakers not subs
Hi, I have a 95 civic dx and i recently put 6.5'' jl's in the rear along with some cheaper dual's in the front doors.. i also have a couple 12's in the trunk with a alpine amp.. but thats beside the point.. i know how to wire up an amp and system for subs.. but i literally have no idea how to do it for regular speakers! also what kind of amp would i need? a 4 channel i guess.. but anything besides that? Thanks! anyone with any knowledge on this would really help! a complete walk through would be AWESOME! LOL
Re: installing a amp for 6.5'' speakers not subs
You need a 4 channel amp to do all 4 speakers and is has to have high outputs. On my Infinity amp it has a harness style connector that plugs into it and bare wires on the end for connecting to the speakers. It's not hard to do if you have done a sub.
Re: installing a amp for 6.5'' speakers not subs
There is a "high level input" section on my amp that you wire the factory speaker wires from the head unit into. Then you wire the outputs of the amp to the speakers. Your sub runs off of the amp which gets its signal from the RCA plugs from your head unit. The speakers run off the amp but get there input signal from the headunit speaker wires. In my previous car I hooked up the door speakers to the amp and it sounded really good!!!
