Tire rub on lowered '93 civic EX
Hey Guys,
I have a '93 civic EX that has been lowered, not sure how much or what brand kit was used. Both my front tires rub at full crank I am pretty sure in both directions.
Now I know that a lot of the issue on the right side is that the lower control arm is bent. Think the guy before me noodled a curb at a decent speed and the tire sits back at least half an inch on that side, but the left side seems to rub as well.
I'm running 195/55 R15's there is also a stamp on the inside of the rim that reads 15x6.5 JJ. Now I'm not sure of the offset but I measured from the inner edge of the rim to the mounting plate and it comes out 5.5". I think that comes out to a 1.5" positive offset or 38mm.
My question really is am I running the right size tire and offset and is there something that would give me better performance and not rub?
I don't really care for the look of the wheels I have now and the rubber has been cooked off as well, I want something that is a bit more even with the outer edge of my fenders.
Thanks.
