93 civic with no fuel problem.
93 civic with no fuel problem.
Okay, here it goes. My sister bought this 1993 honda civic (low milage 148,xxx if the odometer is to be believed) and it has always had an intermitent "hard-ish" starting problem, but once it fired up ran like a top. Recently, she called me from a friends house saying that her car was completly dead. I went over, checked and replaced the battery ( it was definatly time to get a new one) and it would spin over but nothing.. upon further inspection, I discovered that absoulutly NO fuel was getting to the fuel filter banjo under the hood. I know enough about these cars to imediatly suspect the fuel pump relay, so thats the next thing I inspected. I bought a new one just to be absolutly sure ( the old one seemed okay but I wanted to be sure) so I plug in both, and...nothing! I take both of them off and test to see if current is going to the relay, it is, and when I "jump" the hot too the downstream fuel wire ( the wire that goes to the fuel pump) it primes and gas goes to the fuel filter/check bolt under the hood. (I have checked the fuel pump wiring for continuity and everything) and can't seem to locate what is going on.. I have checked all the fuses, I've done everything I know to do.. any thoughts? I can include any pictures if anyone has any ideas.
Thank you! any help is greatly appreciated!
