Engine swap nightmare

Hi there, I bought an automatic 1993 Honda civic hatchback, was told it had transmission issues, checked this with a test drive and sure enough it was stuck in 1st gear and would only get up to 40 km/h. So I figured I would source a good transmission, toss it in and have a running car. . . .man was I wrong. Turns out someone had swapped a d16y8 into it with what I believe is all the d15 accessories. I'm not to familiar with these obd 2 engine swaps into obd 1 cars so I'm hoping someone could help point me in the right direction as to what I have, what I need, and what I still need to do. I'll post a bunch of photos here to show what I have, if any other photos or info is needed to point me in a better direction please don't hesitate to ask me for them. Thank you in advance.

Re: Engine swap nightmare

?

Honda are good for swaps because you can toss an newer engine only into a new car.
What actual issue are you having,, like not running? Axles not going in? etc

Well the initial problem was it was stuck in first gear and would get to a max of 40 km/h, also if you let off the gas at any point the rpms would drop to idle like you were neutral rolling and if you wanted to get the car moving again you'd have to rev the car back up to match rpms to the speed your going and it would engage again to move the car faster. Since discovering that I've parked the car, and started digging around to find an issue, upon doing that I discovered that someone had swapped a d16y8 into the car, put a transmission from an early 90s d15 engine on it, and did not do any converting of the wiring harness or obd system because the obd1 port is not making the check engine light flash when I bridge the ports with a wire and there is no v tec wiring on the harness that I can see but the VTEC solenoid is on the engine just not plugged in. So my issue here is mostly lack of knowledge, I'm not familiar with engine swapping these cars and don't really know what I need to do to get this car to run and shift properly. I have done a little research and have picked a few parks for a d16y8 engine including and intake manifold with fuel rail and throttle body, the intake breather tube and filter box, a dizzy, an ecu with the abs module on it with part number 37820-P2P-C92 1216-204042, the wiring harness for ECU the runs under the hood through the firewall, and a transmission with part number B4RA-9139672 YP4R50. At this point just looking for some guidance really.
