I am also having a problem with my emergency brake. It engages on the driver side rear wheel but not on the passenger side. I checked the lever and spring in the drum assembly and everything looks good. What I do see happening is that the little metal part that houses the adjuster nut behind the console is cockeyed. I have included an attachment to show this. Also, in the photo I have circled the little nipple where the cable begins. This little part moves in and out a bit on the passenger side, but it does not move on the driver side. Any idea what is going on here? Pulling on the cable
does not make it move, so I assume it is not broken. Thank you,
Thank you for the response Colin42. I was able to remove the end cylinders of both cables from the cable housing (equalizer?). The one that works is a bit more taught than the one that is not working, but the difference is fairly subtle. There is cerrtainly not a lot of sloppiness in the non-functional one. Tomorrow I will look at what happens inside each brake assembly when the cables are pulled. Perhaps that will shed some light on things. For now, any other ideas of what could be amiss? Thanks again,
