PA State inspections - odometer rules
Hello Fellow Forum Members,
I have a 1995 Civic DX with ~355,000 miles. The speedometer has finally conked out on me and I am looking to purchase a used gauge. It will undoubtedly have fewer miles than mine, as I am not seeing anything out there for sale with nearly as many miles. My question is whether I can just swap the replacement gauge for my defunct one or must I have the mileage rolled forward to meet what is on mine? I wouldn't mind it being off and just keeping a written note of my current miles and the starting miles of the replacement gauge, but not sure if this will fly. It's $125 for the speedo shop to rest the mileage, so would rather not got that route if it is not a requirement for inspection. Any help is appreciated. Sincerely,
Andrew
