Smoke coming from valve cover
Smoke coming from valve cover
So I finished my head gasket this evening. Started the car up, cranked up great but after a few minutes of running smoke started coming from the oil cap on the valve cover.
Any my thoughts on what may cause this?
I did use carb cleaner to clean the head up when I had it apart, could it be from that?

Re: Smoke coming from valve cover
It's going to smoke until all the oil and antifreeze residues have baked away, and it has to get hot to do that.
As long as it's not leaking, get it fully warned up and drive it.
Smoke and stink will go away after it's been driven at operating temperature a few times.
