Unhappy slow acceleration standard lx

Sometimes I can gun it, some times it runs slow at lights and getting on the highway. Also, sometimes when I shift, no matter what gear I put it in, it'll try to red line until one moment when it will let me go into gear....odd. Another thing happens every now and then, the rpms stay above 1000 and raise and lower when in idle...
Last but not least, the brakes sometimes lose pressure...I'll be at a light and it will give to the floor. Any ideas on any of these problems?

It's a Civic... Air filter's good? What year do you have?

How old is your clutch? It might be going out. Have you changed the transmission fluid lately, if ever?

Idle Air Control Valve might need a cleaning. Shouldn't be too tough to remove and clean.

That... is a serious problem. The fluid and pads/shoes are good? Is there any air you can bleed out of the lines? When in doubt, take it in before you kill yourself or someone else!!!

That last part sounds like a bad brake master cylinder.

I don't even want to guess at the rest, because
If you can't get it stopped-- you really don't need it to go.
