Rep Power: 0 Random RPM Drop at Idle and Stall
Carbureted 1994 Honda Civic from Thailand. At random (every few days) the RPM at idle will drop to ~500-600 and then stall, need to feather throttle to keep it running, black smoke from exhaust, and it takes forever to restart. Other info... Electric choke doesn't work. I've been to 3 shops here in Thailand and nobody has a clue. I'm about to set this car on fire and push it off a cliff!

Re: Random RPM Drop at Idle and Stall
I think it something related to the catalytic converter, I have similar problems the weak idle, black smoke, but its never shut off course I might not have let it lol My theory is the cat could be blocked and the exhaust can't escape like it need to so it go's back in the engine.
