Overheating no visible symptoms

Hey guys Ive been reading the overheating problems in the forums but when someone comes close to my problem it strays off into a different direction of another problem so Im just posting this.

92 Civic hatchback with a d16a6 motor(crx si motor)

This is a replaced motor with 100,000 miles on it, the original overheated thanks to my brother and mother not taking proper precautions when they noticed something was wrong with it. -__-

ok so I got the motor replaced and my family has been driving it around town quite a bit with no problems(2 weeks). Then when I took it on the freeway for the first time after 15-20 mins it began to overheat so I pulled over. There was no coolant anywhere, both the top and bottom radiator hoses are hot so I know the coolant temp sensor is working, the fan turned on and no coolant traveling to the over flow tank. The engine doesn't have the milky stuff on the cap or any visible from the valve cover hole so I know the head gasket didn't blow and theres no white smoke. The coolant level is fine also. what could be the problem?
its buggin me bad. plus I got my mom on my back saying the new motor is bad. I don't think it is the motor cuz it woula broke on me by now and I woulda seen some sign that its no good.

so anyone got an idea what it could be?
Also there is no heat in the car, that really puzzled me cuz I had it before the replaced motor.
I was told also that the CAT is clogged from the old motors fumes from the blown head gasket and making the car overheat? idk how that happens.
Im also thinking its the thermostat but if that was bad wouldn't it overheat all the time?

I need to get this car running properly by next week :/ anyone plz help!!!

First is the on?

Im confused about one thing, you said

"I was told also that the CAT is clogged from the old motors fumes from the blown head gasket and making the car overheat?"

So is this from the old motor or the new one? you said your headgasket was good and there is no smoke but what is this about?? If your CAT was clogged it would run like crap..

when you did the motor swap did you use the radiator from your old motor? maybe your Radiator is not the right size? No heat could mean your cooling system is clogged or you have a leak.. Have you flushed the system at all?

With your car running(cold) take the cap off and see if your fluid flows or not.. Notice i said COLD..do not take the cap off if your car is hot.

we will start with those questions and go from there..

Wash 24 years worth of bugs and dirt out of the radiator fins so air can flow through them again

all the stuff that could possibly in the CAT is from the old motor. The new one is fine. sorry for the confusion and no there isn't a CEL.

I used the old radiator, it should be the right size. the shop I bought the motor from said it would be fine cuz I went to a 1.5 to a 1.6 motor.

I have not flushed the system. I think imma get that done at the dealer then cuz Im in there so much they usually help me out and tell me other things about cars I bring in to get serviced for no extra charge. I think it might be clogged. cuz theres no leaks anywhere.

ok when you say see if it flows, what do you mean exactly? Ive never had a cooling system problem before so idk what exactly to look for when I take the cap off? is it suppose to look like its moving around inside the radiator? or is it suppose to look still? is it suppose to rise up?

I do remember that blue devil was added to the sytem when the old motor blew. do you think that could be clogging the system?

Well, if there is any left in the system then yes it could...it goes through your heater core too so it could have all got stuck in there and built up since you have no leaks for it to repair anymore..that stuff has to go somewhere..

when you take the cap off the fluid should be at the top since your car is cold, and if you look at it, you would see if flowing..its a really slow flow, but if any bubble in the fluid or anything else you would see it float by.. i guess its hard to explain.. But if you had additives with the blown motor i would flush your system..
