95 Civic wont start

My 1995 civic 5 speed EX 1.6 was running great until I pulled out in the road and changed gears and it cut off and will not start back.
I checked the timing belt and it did Not break.
I checked to see if it was getting fuel, fuel pump is fine.
Civic engine will turn over like it should but will not start.
I used a test light to see if it was getting power to the distributor and yes it is.

I took the distributor cap off a placed my hand while a friend turned engine over (I was expecting it to shock the heck out of me.) the shock I got was not very strong.

Any suggestions are welcome.

I know it was not the smartest move ever but, you know sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

Re: 95 Civic wont start

Found out I need to replace the Distributor.
I went to the parts store with the number on the Distributor td-41u.
I was told that the td-41u Distributor is for the DX and my car should have the td-42u Distributor.
I have looked on line and everything I have found says that the td-41u is not for the EX.

YES, the engine is the 1.6 vtec and the Civic is a EX.

Can someone please tell me why my EX has the td-41u Distributor?

Also what is the difference between the (td-41u Distributor) and the (td-42u Distributor).

Thanks,
BigBelly1
