Car WILL NOT start

I have a '95 civic. its a 5 speed, and this morning when I went to start it I could only get it to start in neutral. As soon as I shifted to any gear I would hear a thud and it would die. What's wrong with it????

Re: Car WILL NOT start

see if you have a trouble code for Idle air control valve. what happens if you rev it up to 3000 rpm and then shift into gear. is it only stalling when your foot is off the accelerator?
