rough idle, no power

rough idle, no power
1989 Honda civic wagon canada 360000kms front wheel drive
symptoms:
driving at 100km/h car hesitated, no noise, backfire? don't know
ran rough since this happened
idles will not stall
pulled plug wires 1 at a time while idling, change in engine note except for cylinder 3 when viewed from the front
changed plug wire with a new one, no change still idles rough
changed plug, still idles rough
plug wet when pulled smelled like gas
any ideas?
