Oil in Spark Plug Tube

I have a 1995 Civic. I just changed the plugs/wires and found oil on 3 of the 4 plug tubes and plugs themselves.

What could be causing this?

Thanks,

Re: Oil in Spark Plug Tube

where the spark plug tubes meet the valve cover there is a gasket around every spark plug tube you replace that and you wont have oil on your spark plugs

^exactly.

I think you can buy them individually for a couple dollars each or the entire valve cover gasket set for around $25.

I personally think it's better and wiser to just get the entire kit, as it comes with the grommets for the cover bolts as well. And those things can leak a little as well and crack over time. But yeah. Last 2 replies are spot on. I
