starter issues
starter issues
I have a 91 civic dx manual tranny. With no previous warnings my starter stopped working. when I turn the key its like the battery is completely dead. tried to jump it but same problem. pushed it off and it runs fine. took it to a parts store and they tested battery and alternator and both are good. I pulled the starter and had it checked and it failed so I bought a new one and installed it. Same result. when I turn the key absolutely nothing happens.
Any help would be appreciated

Re: starter issues
Start by checking fuses 31 and 32. If the fuses are good then dis-connect the black/white wire from the end of the starter solenoid. Use a jumper wire and go from battery positive to the terminal you just dis-connected the black/white wire from. If the jumper wire makes the starter turn then there is an open in the black/white wire between the ignition switch and starter.
