Need help, do not know if i have the original engine
About 3 months ago, i bought a 1995 Civic from craigslist. Now that i've had it for a while, now it started to give me problems....engine blew, rod shot right through the block, so i wanted to know if that was the original motor or not, because i have not beaten on that thing once...im thinking the lady that sold it to me swapped it with a junkyard motor without telling me...somebody please help :\

Tough to say. The engine is in the 5th gen coupe. No Carfax report I'm assuming. Though those things aren't super great sometimes. No chance of speaking to the woman? Worth a shot if possible

@MelJ
I do have a carfax report, but regardless, it wouldn't say. The lady could've easily blown the original motor and swapped it with a junkyard motor with over 300,000 miles on it. That's what i believe what happened because my mechanic took a look at the cylinder walls and said that's around how many miles it has. And i could try getting ahold of her, but she could easily lie about it...
and @lazlog,
worth a try i guess,

And if i were to get a new motor, i would get a new tranny as well, which i don't know if it's worth it or not. I paid $2400 for the piece of **** and already dropped another $2000 on it just with stupid stuff. I don't think it would be worth it to spend that much money on it, no?
If so, would this be a good idea?
