Battery light issue. Need help please!

Battery light issue. Need help please! Hey everyone, I'll try to explain this the best I can. I have a 93 civic si and the battery light is on and my car dies out within a few blocks of driving. First the cd player cuts out, then all my dash lights dim out and my head lights dim out so much they dont even look like they're on. This happened to me a few months ago and I put in a new alternator and it seemed to fix the problem until now. Both times that it's happened it's right after driving through a puddle.
