expert advice needed!!
I have just bought a 94 civic 1.3 dx and i was just wondering if anybody has any knowlegde as to why i cant get over 65mph? do these models have restrictors which limits the speed and if so...how can i take it off? cheers.

Check your timing. Just yesterday I was working on a Mazda. It was firing AFTER top dead center... I could not rev up passed 3 on the RPM gauge. Notched back the timing to right before TDC... Vrooooooomm!!! Up to 8 on the RPM gauge.
But you said MPH not RPM.... Have you tried revving the engine up, whilst in park/neutral??

whoa whoa whoa 1.3? i was pretty sure they stopped making d13's in like the early 80's? I had the same problem with my coupe it was 2 major things that i can remember doing it, the timing was off and the map sensor was fouled with no MIL. Try doing both of those, then popping the ecu and back up fuse out and resetting the ecu and see what she does then. Good luck
