starting a swap for my 97 civic
Hello honda comunity. Im going to start this post by saying that I'm a newbie to the advanced Honda community, but im by no means bad with cars. Iwork at a body shop for a living and graduated from a trade school in the area, so dont be scared to get technical with me please.
So the reason for this posting s that I'm goin to start building a motor to go into my 97 civic, but i have almost no idea where to start. ( Obviously with a motor) but im 100 percent positive i want to boost the motor and try to reach between 275-300 horse to the wheels but ive got no idea which motor to start with. I was thinking of a b18c gsr motor but i dont know if there is a better choice of motor for what I'd like to accomplish. I plan on upgrading the guts of the motor as well took better handle the forced induction so any tips at all on building the most reliable boosted motor i can would b awesome.
Id also be extremely grateful for any references on where i can buy the motor as well as any upgrades. Im not so much worried abput labor as i am parts so any input will be appreciated.
Thanks allot in advance.

Craigslist, or junk yards are gonna be your best bet. For cheap motors. Junk yard is like 250 for motor + core charge and 100-150 for transmission plus + cc. I seen b18's on cl for 600+ with missing valve covers and no tranny
