I read the articles and I understand what motor/trans I have, but I didnt understand the list of motors that could be swapped into my 97 dx.

Are these the motors that can a swapped with the d16y7, or are these meant for something else?

1. B18C1: Completely bolt-in swap, VTEC needs to be wired.
2. B16A2: Completely bolt in swap, VTEC needs to be wired.
3. B16A3: Completely bolt-in swap, VTEC needs to be wired, OBD Conversion.
4. B18C5: Completely bolt-in swap, VTEC needs to be wired.
5. B18B1: Completely bolt-in swap.
6. B16B: Completely bolt-in swap, VTEC needs to be wired.
7. H22A: Mount kit required, Hasport shift linkage, VTEC needs to be wired.
8. D16Z6: Completely bolt-in, OBD conversion, VTEC needs to be wired.
9. D16Y8: Completely bolt-in, VTEC needs to be wired.

Don't understand the question. Yes, you can swap those engines for yours. They came out of different vehicles. Like the Z6 came out of JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) SI-R's, etc. For a list of which engine comes from which vehicle search wikipedia. Use the search term "honda d engines", etc.

yeah your all good , i got a b18b1 in my 97 dx civic. just be careful and switch the right ecu , your motor will lean and you will lose compression if not
