B swap versus K swap

Alright so I'm new to honda's, I'm looking into a 99 civic hatch. Along with the new car and I am looking into an engine swap since lets face it, the stock engine isnt so good. Im looking into a b18c or a k20. I know the b18c will be much easier to drop in but would it be worth it to spend more money and put a k20 in? what would be the big advatages over a k20 then a b18?

-thanks

Re: B swap versus K swap

K20 has more power potential, and is a better engine in general

B18 is way cheaper and easier to swap in, with excellent gains.

Personally, I'd put a B18 in unless I had buttloads of money and nowhere to put it If you search the forum you will find tons of info on both swaps and you can decide what you want to do

Re: B swap versus K swap

but you will need to go to the right forum to search - this is the 1-5th gen, a 99 is a 6th gen

^moved.

Kseries swaps are the best option anyone has, you can make massive and reliable gains with simple bolt ons, but you pay for that big time.

If you have a 99 then I'd swap in a b18c and direct the money you save to other areas of the car, if you want something more unique go with an h22.

not to worry, mindbomber took care of the placement
surf the forum, lots of good info (try to keep in the threads with lots of pages - most of them are short 'cos the questions were a beaten-to-death inquiry)
