My turboed 99 Si now has a weird rumble coming from the transmission. It only does it in neutral. Other then third being touchy at times its quiet driving around. A buddy of mine told me it may be a faulty release bearing. Wanted to get a few suggestions before throwing money around to some mechanics. Thanks.

The throwout bearing(or release bearing) could be a possibility. It's really hard to tell when you aren't there to actually hear the noise. If you have a reputable mechanic, I'd take it there just to get a 2nd opinion. Never hurts to be thorough, especially with something involving the clutch system.

I am going to be taking it to a mechanic; it just i like to get as much info before throwing money around. I am not rich lol. Once I figure out what it is I will be posting it for future reference if anybody may need it.

or if they try to rip you, get as much information as you can from what they think is the problem, and come back here with pictures to see if they are telling the truth
