Rep Power: 0 2008 civic si....transmission or something else ?
My si has 100k miles, when i try to speed up too fast on any gear, the speedometer just spikes and the car continues to travel at the same rate of speed. I am forced to down shift in order to speed up. I had my 6 speed transmission clutch replaced a year ago. Does anyone have any ideas how i may fix this problem?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Sounds like your TACHOMETER spikes, not the speedometer.
Sounds like it needs a clutch. Again.
........And if a clutch only lasted you a year, it's on you.
You need to learn how to drive a manual trans car to minimize clutch wear.
