2008 civic si transmission problem ?

when cruising on any gear and i try to speed up; my speedometer gauge moves up (spikes) but my car still drives at the same speed. I have heard that SI
6 speed transmissions have a bad reputation. Does anyone know what's going on with my car. IT has 100 k miles, transmission clutch replaced a year ago.

2008 civic si....transmission or something else ?

My si has 100k miles, when i try to speed up too fast on any gear, the speedometer just spikes and the car continues to travel at the same rate of speed. I am forced to down shift in order to speed up. I had my 6 speed transmission clutch replaced a year ago. Does anyone have any ideas how i may fix this problem?

Sounds like your TACHOMETER spikes, not the speedometer.

Sounds like it needs a clutch. Again.

........And if a clutch only lasted you a year, it's on you.
You need to learn how to drive a manual trans car to minimize clutch wear.
